When an organization hires a third-party vendor that needs access to its network systems, a failure of legal and IT to coordinate the implementation of that access can cause costly delays. The Cybersecurity Law Report discussed the problem with David Cass, the CISO of IBM’s cloud and SaaS operational services, using a fact pattern familiar to many companies: A company is seeking to hire a third-party vendor that needs access to its network systems to perform its duties, but legal and IT have different ideas about the process, and the project stalls. Cass offered advice to bridge the gap between technology and legal teams.
